Hibiscus is an herbal tea made as an infusion from crimson or deep magenta-coloured calyces of the roselle flower. It is consumed both hot and cold, which makes it ideal as a refreshing summertime drink or for a delicate and warming herbal infusion during the late afternoon. It has a tart and fruity cranberry-like flavour, and sugar or honey is often added to sweeten it.
